After 3 months without a working Pentair Mastertemp 400, and a expensive estimate from a pool service company I am happy to say this part is great and works well. After a rat infestation this summer, I could not get the Mastertemp to work. I got the pool service company to come out and he said the white igniter wires were a healthy feast for the rats. $99 later for the service call and I was left with a $149 repair estimate for replacing the igniter.Like I always do, I look up Amazon and see what the actual price vs the repair company price. Nearly a $60 difference! I ordered the igniter off Amazon!The igniter element is different than the one in the Pentair Mastertemp that was originally installed by my pool builder. That one was a coil helix element, while the one from Amazon is a 'flat' element.The new igniter fits perfectly with no issues. The new gasket is a must as the old one was flaky and fell off after removing the old one.The sign of success is to have the heater work again. It works like new and I have not have any misfires or errors since.
