Like many, I ignored the bad reviews and bought it anyway to test..and like many I was disappointed by this. It looks similar in style to the vornado fan I have and since I love how that looks and so many small space heaters are just plain ugly, I thought why not? However, I placed this side by side with a 1500 watt Holmes heater. The Holmes heater is smaller, half the noise level and DOUBLE the heat output. Now, if you want a small desk heater that you want to heat up your feet and maybe a 7' x 7' room I think this would work for you. As a "room heater" though, there's no way this cuts it which is unfortunate because I really wanted to like it but this is going back for sure. This heats up a small room amazingly. It does sound like a box fan, but I personally don't mind.I have had many different Vornado products over the last almost 20 years. This one lives up to the reputation for air flow (about the reach of air flow and volume) and the heat component is also good - good level of heat to quickly take the edge off a cold room. The problem that I have with this is the level of noise - it's loud - more than the generic ceramic brick heaters. I chose this one because I have it controlled through a smart plug to have it turn on/off through a schedule and voice-command. I will keep it because of those conveniences but will also keep my electronic Vornado which is whisper quiet (albeit an additional $45).This is still a good fan, unique also because of the nice style, but the noise can be bothersome. The fan makes the difference. It circulates heat better than other heaters I've tried.I absolutely love this little heater! The design is on point and so compact. The safety features are well thought out.I love that there’s both a toggle on/off switch and a temperature dial with its own on/off switch and built-in temp control. That way, I can just keep the switch toggled on and set the dial to the temperature I want and easily just turn it off and on with voice command using Google assistant! For a small heater, it warms up my room super quick. Do take note that it’s not very tall so I’d recommend propping it up on a shelf or at the very least swivel it so it points upwards and towards a direction where the heat flow will circulate easily all over the room.Lastly, the customer service is on point! My first one wouldn’t turn on after a long spring-summer hibernation period and since it was still under warranty, I contacted the company and within a few days they sent me another one, perfect for the soon-to-be chilly 2021 winter. Loved that!Such a great heater and worth every penny! You're probably looking at the Glide for its cute vintage-inspired design, and if that's the case know that you're paying for its aesthetic more than anything. We have this space heater as well as the Vornado VMH300 in our house and the VMH300 is definitely the better value of the two. The outside casing of the Glide has a very cheap shiny plastic casing in comparison to the VMH300 which has more of a matte finish.Function-wise the Glide can heat up my small office pretty quick but sounds just like a box fan when running so I often have to switch it off to take any calls as it's pretty loud. I don't think it would be very effective in larger rooms.I do like that it's not hot to the touch while operating. I've also accidentally knocked it over while running and the tip safety feature kicked in quickly to shut it off. The VMH300 is a lot quieter in comparison and gives you more control over the exact temperature of the room.If you're willing to pay the premium for a cute heater, the Glide will do the job just fine. You'll compromise on some features you could probably get for the same cost, but at the end of the day you really just need it to heat a room and it's pretty good at doing thatI love Vornado fans and I wanted to love this space heater. It’s very cute and I was willing to pay more for nice aesthetics. The casing components, however, make a light buzzing sound when you turn it on, more than you’d expect. The fan blade itself is pretty quiet.. For the price point, I was expecting a better build quality.Great heater for a small room. Heats it up quickly and safe for the kids. The only issue that I have is that it is hard to tell if its on. When the room hits the set temp, the unit goes to "Sleep" until the temp drops below the threshold. Then it "wakes" up. Here is where the issue is. When the unit goes to "sleep" the light goes off as well. So many times, we have left the unit on overnight due to its quiet efficiency. It would be nice to have the light on all the time, if the unit is on. That being said, we have just trained ourselves to check it before we leave the room. Its a habit, but we still forget. While we loved the design and the amount of heat that was produced, in the end, it simply was too loud for us to keep. We tried placing it in different places in the room, but regardless of where we put it, it overwhelmed conversation, music and television.Looks great— amazing design. Sadly, only a mediocre heater. This item stopped working within 3 months of on and off use. Don't waste your money like I did.Decent heater, not the cheapest but it looks good. The noise means it's no good if your watching TV or trying to sleep, but it definitely warms the place upDesign is sleek and expensive, works very well for small space.
